Book Reviews
“My daughter and I love this book about the Hindu festival Dussehra and the ups and downs of the little girl Aarti who is attending for the first time. I am always looking for great books that introduce our family to cultures and traditions we may not be exposed to in our everyday life, and this book is such a beautiful blend of compelling storytelling while still teaching about the festival and the traditions associated with it. I never felt like I was being outwardly taught, rather the information about the festival is sweetly folded into Aarti's tale of wanting so badly to dance in the inner circle close to the Goddess. My daughter loved the illustrations, and we were all cheering for Aarti by the end! :) I recommend this book to any and all families, but especially to culturally-minded mommas looking to expose their littles to Hindu tradition. Such a great little book.” — Kayla Floyd
